"We Had Forever" is the result of a cross country collaboration, created in both New York City and Seattle. Robert Lilly messaged me about working together and when I heard the instrumental demo, I was instantly inspired.

The lyrics unpack the moment when a couple feels and knows that their relationship will soon end, but they haven't spoken about it yet. The words recognize the beginning stage of love, the optimistic feelings and daydreams about a life together, within the context of the ending - "We had forever when we made that promise / But some promises can’t be kept, for reasons that never make much sense".
